Hamilton County Commissioner for District 2, Chip Baker has announced his run for reelection.
Baker is a Republican and his district is in the Signal Mountain area.
Commissioner Baker has served two terms and is now seeking a third.
The Republican Primary for Hamilton County Commissioner will take place in May 2026.
The general election for will be in August 2026.
Baker says his focus remains on property rights, controlled and responsible growth, infrastructure needs, and keeping neighborhoods and families safe.
He serves on the following committees:
- Finance and Budget Committee
- Legal, Legislative, Administrative, and Personal Committee
- Security, Corrections, Emergency Operations and Responders Committee
- Delinquent Tax Property Special Committee
Baker also currently serves as a commissioner on the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, and he is a member of the Downtown Rotary.
Commissioners in Hamilton County do not have term limits.
